Proton Fight Club: A National Awareness Campaign for Proton Therapy

This year more than 1.8 million Americans will be diagnosed with cancer. Roughly 1% of those diagnosed will be treated with proton therapy. Proton therapy is the most advanced form of radiation therapy in the world today. Unfortunately, it is only utilized by a small percentage of people diagnosed because of the lack of awareness for this unique treatment.

February marks the start of National Cancer Prevention Month and here at Oklahoma Proton Center, we couldn’t think of a better way to start it off than by sharing some exciting news. Enter Proton Fight Club!

Proud to Sponsor

Oklahoma Proton Center is proud to be the first sponsor of the Proton Fight Club. Proton Fight Club was created for patients of proton therapy and is sponsored by participating proton centers throughout the United States. The goal of this campaign is to bring national awareness to the benefits of utilizing proton therapy for cancer treatments. Proton Fight Club will spread awareness through the utilization of unique imagery posted by patients and frontline workers that directs the audience to the Proton Fight Club website. Here, viewers will find information on proton therapy, be able to locate local centers, and read testimonies from frontline workers and patients who have been treated by proton therapy firsthand. It is the hope of Proton Fight Club and participating centers that courageously sharing their stories will educate more people on this underutilized treatment option and bring awareness to the most advanced form of radiotherapy in the world.
