Breast Cancer Treatment
Fight breast cancer with innovative proton therapy treatment.
ABOUT BREAST CANCER TREATMENT
Approximately one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer at some point in their lifetime. While traditional radiation treatment methods that use X-rays such as IMRT or TomoTherapy can be effective in treating breast cancer, they can often cause treatment-related side effects due to excess radiation exposure. Proton therapy can help lower the risk of excess radiation because protons can be stopped inside the tumor. Proton therapy is available to patients with early-stage and locally-advanced breast cancers such as: Ductal carcinoma in-situ (DCIS), Inflammatory breast cancer, ER, PR positive or negative , Her2Neu positive or negative, triple-positive or triple-negative breast cancer, recurrent breast cancer and breast cancer patients who have previously received radiation therapy in close proximity to the new target area.
