It is care that understands there is a physical disease that needs treating, but also that mental health and maintenance are just as important during and after treatment. We know that cancer treatment can take a toll on the body. That’s why at Oklahoma Cancer Center we focus on more than just treating the cancer. We also focus on ensuring patients are able to maintain as high a quality of life as possible during and after treatment. We do this by creating a unique treatment plan for each patient that uses the latest advances in precision medicine. This could include targeted drugs or immunotherapy agents or precision proton therapy that reduces side effects by delivering less radiation to healthy tissue.

We also combine treatment with other therapies and services such as nutrition, physical therapy, counseling and mental health, and functional medicine. All of this ensures that a patient is getting more than a cure – they are maintaining quality of life.

Proton therapy is a form of radiation treatment that delivers an exact, high dose of radiation to a tumor site while sparing surrounding healthy tissue and organs from damage, reducing the risk of negative side effects during and following treatment.
